Stroller Shopping

It’s below zero this morning, and I have some shopping to do today – ugh! I hate having to go from store to store to find what I want and get it for the best price. I don’t even like doing that on a bright, sunny, warm day! Having to do it when it’s below zero is almost intolerable! I found this great site today that offers not only reviews of different products, but also a list of manufacturers and competitive prices at different locations. Check it out at Shopping at Home.

A relative is pregnant with her first child, and several of us want to get her a stroller. So I went to Babies and Toddlers section. There I found a complete side by side comparison of different brands and models of strollers - it was great!

After I decided which brand of stroller I was interested in, I was able to click on the stores that carry the brand and model I wanted Here's what I found: Stroller. How great is that! One stop shopping and I don’t have to run from store to store in the frigid temps! I’m sure my relative will love her stroller and she’ll be able to use it when it’s WARM outside!!

American Idol and Tweens

Missy LOVES American Idol! She couldn't wait for it to start last night! Over the weekend we were talking about the new season starting, and Missy said, "It's on Tuesday night at 7:00" LOL. Luckily I could hold the show over her head a little and told her that she had to have her homework done, her piano practiced, and her dirty clothes picked up before she could watch the show. We also do something during the commercials - last night we did subtraction flashcards and we worked on her spelling list. If we had TiVo or a DVR, the show would go a lot faster, but at least we make good use of our time during the commercials.

Buddy really doesn't care about American Idol. He watched it with us a few times last season, but he's not into it like Missy is. Maybe it's a boy vs. girl thing.

This is only our third season watching the show - we didn't start watching from the very first season - I have a feeling if we had, I would be burned out by now!

You know, it's LIKE this

Today Buddy came home from 7th grade and said that one of the other middle school teachers taught their Language Arts class today. He said she doesn't like the word "like" though. I asked what he meant. He said, "She asked me what the definition of "currency" was, and I said, 'It's like money.'" He said the teacher said, "No, it's not LIKE money, it IS money." LOL. That's a language arts teacher for you!!

Back to Reality

We had a really great Christmas vacation. I was worried that the kids would get bored because we had 2.5 weeks off - the longest Christmas vacation that I can remember. But we had a lot of fun and got along for the most part! I think there were only a couple of days that we didn't have anything on the calendar.

Now it's back to reality. Buddy has at least one test this week, and two basketball practices, one game, and a bball tournament on Saturday. Missy has dance on Tuesday, piano on Thursday, and basketball on Saturday. I am supposed to go scrapbooking all day on Saturday, but hubby just reminded me yesterday that he and Buddy are going to the Minnesota Timberwolves basketball game on Saturday night, so Missy will have to come and scrapbook with me for awhile. Then this morning I found out about the weekend basketball tournament, which is out of town, so I'll have to decide what's more important - mommy time or watching your kid play ball. I have a feeling I know which one will win out (watching my kid, of course).
